▍Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS)

Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology released Electronics & Information Technology Goods-Requirement for Compulsory Registration Order I-Notified on 7^th September, 2012, and it came into effect on 3^rd October, 2013. Electronics &Information Technology Goods Requirement for Compulsory Registration, what is usually called BIS certification, is actually called CRS registration/certification. All electronic products in the compulsory registration product catalog imported to India or sold in the Indian market must be registered in the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). In November 2014, 15 kinds of compulsory registered products were added. New categories include: mobile phones, batteries, power banks, power supplies, LED lights and sales terminals, etc.

Lithium system cell/battery: IS 16046 (Part 2): 2018/ IEC62133-2: 2017

Coin cell/battery is included in CRS.

Ater introducing the background of the CFR federal law ANSI B56 standard above, the final battery-powered forklift product and its drive battery also need to meet the requirements of UL 583. Vehicle type: covering battery-powered industrial trucks, such as platform forklifts, forklifts, traction vehicle, tractors, etc.
Power type: covering lead-acid batteries, on-board battery chargers, lithium-ion batteries, fuel cells, electrochemical capacitors (super/supercapacitors);

Lithium battery standard: the requirements for lithium battery standards in UL 583 are UL2580 or UL 2271, and the specific selection of which standard also needs to be combined with the types of forklift.
Other components to be evaluated: controllers, contactors, visible parts (strobe lights), sound generators (horns, sirens)
There are two standards that electric forklift batteries need to consider when going to North America: UL 2580 or UL 2271. If the battery has passed the UL2580 test certification, it can meet the use of any kind of forklift, and it is recommended to test and certify according to this standard when it is not clear which kind of forklift the battery is used for.
