Mandatory certification of battery by MIC Vietnam:
Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) of Vietnam stipulated that from October 1, 2017, all batteries used in mobile phones, tablets and laptops must get DoC (Declaration of Conformity) approval before they can be imported; later it stipulated that local testing in Vietnam would be required from July 1, 2018. On August 10, 2018, MIC stipulated that all regulated products (including batteries) imported into Vietnam shall get PQIR for clearance; and when applying for PQIR, SDoC must be submitted.
Vietnam MIC Certification of Battery application process:
1. Conducted local test in Vietnam to obtain QCVN101:2020 /BTTTT test report
2. Apply for ICT MARK and issue SDoC (the applicant must be a Vietnamese company)
3. Apply for PQIR
4. Submit PQIR and complete the customs clearance.
