Background:

For the reason of COVID-19, on April 20, 2020 TISI has released a gazette that batteries, cells, power banks, outlets, plugs, lighting products, optic fiber cables and similar products can be imported to Thailand through the application of batch certification.

Cancellation:

On Oct 15, 2021 a new gazette was announced by TISI that the batch certificates which were opened up due to pandemic will be canceled 60 days after from the date of announcement (that is Dec 14, 2021), which has made the TISI licensing procedure return to that procedure before pandemic. Products with standard having specified batch certification would not be affected; while those have been given special approval for batch certification during pandemic period shall be terminated for application. Battery products fall to the cancellation scope.

So far TISI has terminated accepting batch application of relevant products.

Suggestion:

It is suggested that clients complete importing products with batch certificate at the soonest and accomplish the application of normal certification before the deadline. MCM can bring up an experience of 2–3 months certification lead time to clients.
