SIRIM, formerly known as the Standard and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM), is a corporate organisation owned wholly by the Malaysian Government, under the Minister of Finance Incorporated. It has been entrusted by the Malaysian Government to be the national organisation for standards and quality, and as a promoter of technological excellence in the Malaysian industry. SIRIM QAS, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SIRIM Group, becomes the only window for all testing, inspection and certification in Malaysia. Currently secondary lithium battery is certified on a voluntary basis, but soon it will be mandated under the supervised of The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, abbreviated KPDNHEP (formly known as KPDNKK).

 MCM’s Strengths

A/ MCM is in close contact with SIRIM and KPDNHEP (Malaysia’s Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs). A person in SIRIM QAS is specially assigned to handle MCM’s projects and share the most accurate and authentic information with MCM in a timely manner.

B/ SIRIM QAS accepts MCM’s testing data and can conduct witness testing at MCM without sending samples to Malaysia.

C/ MCM can provide clients with one-stop service by making integrated solutions for the certification of batteries, adapters and host products in Malaysia.
