On November 11, 2020, Indian Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises released a new Quality Control Order (QCO), namely Electrical Equipment (Quality Control) Order, 2020. Through this order, the electrical equipment listed below should comply with the corresponding Indian standards. The specific products and corresponding standards are shown below. The mandatory date is proposed to be on November 11, 2021.
Following the release of the fifth batch of CRS list last month, India has updated a batch of electrical product lists this month. Such a close update speed shows that the Indian government is accelerating the pace of compulsory certification of more electrical and electronic products. Most of the products announced so far can be tested and applied for certification. The certification lead time is about 1-3 months. Customers are advised to plan ahead according to their own needs.
