GB 31241-2022 has been mandatory since January 1, 2024. Since August 1, 2024, lithium-ion batteries for portable electronic products must be certified by the CCC and marked with the CCC certification mark before they can be manufactured, sold, imported or used in other business activities.

The scope of application of this standard includes:

a) Portable office products: laptops, tablets, etc.;

b) Mobile communication products: mobile phones, cordless phones, walkie-talkies, etc.;

c) Portable audio/video products: portable TV, portable audio/video players, cameras, camcorders, voice recorders, Bluetooth headphones, portable audio, etc.

d) Other portable products: electronic navigators, digital photo frames, game consoles, e-books, mobile power supplies, portable energy storage power supplies, portable projectors, wearable devices, etc.

Additional requirements may apply to lithium-ion batteries or battery packs for use in specific applications such as vehicles, ships, and aircraft, as well as for portable electronic products used in special fields such as medical, mining, and subsea operations.

This standard does not apply to lithium-ion batteries and battery packs for electronic cigarettes.
