Background:
The Quick Charge nowadays has become a new function even a selling point of a mobile phone. However, the Quick charge method adopted by the manufacturers is using a charging cutoff current which is higher than 0.05ItA, which is required by the standard IEC 62133-2. In order to pass the tests, manufacturers have brought up this question for a decision.
DECISION:
Based on above question, IECEE has published the CTL Provisional Decision as below on September 14th, 2021:
Clarification:
0.05 ItA shall be the charging cutoff current as per standard. However, on request of the manufacturer, a separate set of tests with samples prepared with a manufacturer-defined cutoff current can be conducted for reference purposes.
