TISI is short for Thai Industrial Standards Institute, affiliating to Thailand Industry Department. TISI is responsible for formulating the domestic standards as well as participating in international standards formulation and supervising the products and qualified assessment procedure to ensure the standard compliance and recognition. TISI is a governmental authorized regulatory organization for compulsory certification in Thailand. It is also responsible for formation and management of standards, lab approval, personnel training and product registration. It is noted that there is no non-governmental compulsory certification body in Thailand.
There is voluntary and compulsory certification in Thailand. TISI logos (see Figures 1 and 2) are allowed to use when products meet the standards. For products that have not yet been standardized, TISI also implements product registration as a temporary means of certification.

Products beyond this scope are fall within the voluntary certification scope. Battery is compulsory certification product in TISI certification.

Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology release the latest GB 4943.1-2022 Audio/video, information and communication technology equipment – Part 1: Safety requirement on July 19th 2022. The new version of standard will be implemented on August 1st 2023, replacing GB 4943.1-2011 and GB 8898-2011.
By July 31st 2023, applicant can voluntarily choose to certify with new version or the old. From August 1st 2023, GB 4943.1-2022 will become the only standard effective. The transformation from old standard certificate into new one should be finished before July 31st 2024, from which the old certificate will be invalid. If renewal of certificate is still undone before October 31st, the old certificate will be revoked. Therefore we suggest our client to renew certificates as soon as possible. Meanwhile, we also suggest the renewal should start from components. We have listed the differences of requirements on critical components between the new and old standard. The new standard has a more accurate and clear definition on critical component classification and requirement. This is based on the reality of the products. In addition, more components are taken into concern, like internal wire, external wire, insulation board, wireless power transmitter, lithium cell and battery for stationary devices, IC, etc. If your products contain these components, you may start their certification so that you may go on for your appliances. Our next issuance will continue to introduce other update of GB 4943.1.
