Implementation of GB/T 34131-2023,
GB/T 34131-2023,

▍Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS)

Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology released Electronics & Information Technology Goods-Requirement for Compulsory Registration Order I-Notified on 7th September, 2012, and it came into effect on 3rd October, 2013. Electronics &Information Technology Goods Requirement for Compulsory Registration, what is usually called BIS certification, is actually called CRS registration/certification. All electronic products in the compulsory registration product catalog imported to India or sold in the Indian market must be registered in the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). In November 2014, 15 kinds of compulsory registered products were added. New categories include: mobile phones, batteries, power banks, power supplies, LED lights and sales terminals, etc.

▍BIS Battery Test Standard

Nickel system cell/battery: IS 16046 (Part 1): 2018/ IEC62133-1: 2017

Lithium system cell/battery: IS 16046 (Part 2): 2018/ IEC62133-2: 2017

Coin cell/battery is included in CRS.

The 2017 version of the national standard Technical Standard for Battery Management System of Electrochemical Energy Storage Station (GB/T 34131-2017) has been revised, and the 2023 version of the national standard Battery Management System for Electric Energy Storage (GB/T 34131-2023) has been officially released recently and will be officially implemented on October 1 this year. The new GB/T 34131 mainly has the following changes:The data acquisition error range and sampling period of current, voltage and temperature are more strictly stipulated;
The technical requirements and test methods of communication, control, insulation resistance detection, insulation voltage resistance, high and low temperature, salt-fog resistance, electrical adaptability, electromagnetic compatibility and other aspects are added;
The operating environment temperature of BMS is revised from 0~45℃ to -20~65℃. The maximum allowable error of SOE is revised from 8% to 5%. The average trouble-free working time is revised from not less than 40000h to not less than 20000h, and the operating life is not less than 10 years;
The related requirements of sampling testing have been added.
These changes will bring significant changes to BMS equipment manufacturing, engineering design, inspection, operation and maintenance. Relevant enterprises also need to pay attention to the content of the new standard in a timely manner and make preparations early.On 14 June 2023, the European Parliament and the Council adopted a resolution on machinery regulation (EU) 2023/1230 and repealed Directive 2006/42/EC of the European Parliament and the Council and Directive 73/361/EEC (text relating to the EEA) of the Council.
The new EU Machinery Regulation, published in the EU Official Journal (OJ) on 29 June 2023, introduces a major revision to the 2006/42/EC Machinery Directive to adapt to more health and safety requirements faced by connected intelligent machinery. The machinery regulation, which was previously adopted by the EU Council on 22 May 2022, will replace the current EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and will be implemented from 19 July 2023, with a 42-month transition period. It will be enforced on January 20, 2027.
Manufacturers of producing gardening, cleaning and industrial robots, etc. should pay attention to its requirements.
