▍What is ANATEL Homologation?

ANATEL is a short for Agencia Nacional de Telecomunicacoes which is Brazil governmental authority to certified communication products for both compulsory and voluntary certification. Its approval and compliance procedures are the same both for Brazil domestic and abroad products. If products are applicable to compulsory certification, the testing result and report must be in line with the specified rules and regulations as requested by ANATEL. Product certificate shall be granted by ANATEL first before product is circulated in marketing and put into practical application.

▍Who is liable for ANATEL Homologation? 

The Brazil governmental standard organizations, other recognized certification bodies and testing labs are ANATEL certification authority for analyzing the production system of manufacturing unit, such as product design process, procurement, manufacturing process, after service and so on to verify the physical product to be complied with Brazil standard. Manufacturer shall provide documents and samples for testing and assessment.

Sodium battery research has been carried out as early as the 1970s, but due to research conditions and other reasons, the development was once stagnant. However, the rapid development of lithium batteries developed during the same period, especially the rapid growth of energy storage and power batteries in the past two years, has led to rising prices of raw materials for lithium batteries. Can sodium batteries really take thisopportunity to subvert lithium batteries and become the future trend of batteries?
So far, the energy density of sodium battery cells is 90-150Wh/kg, compared with 150-180Wh/kg of lithium iron phosphate batteries and 200-280Wh/kg of ternary system lithium-ion batteries, there is still a big gap. But in terms of electrical performance (charging and discharging rate, high and low temperature performance, cycle performance), it does not fall behind, and even has more advantages.Comprehensive considerations, based on the technical characteristics of the current stage, sodium batteries are still difficult to become the mainstream, but for energy storage batteries that do not require higher energy density, sodium batteries may become the first choice, but for power batteries, they will still be the world of lithium batteries.
