ANATEL is a short for Agencia Nacional de Telecomunicacoes which is Brazil governmental authority to certified communication products for both compulsory and voluntary certification. Its approval and compliance procedures are the same both for Brazil domestic and abroad products. If products are applicable to compulsory certification, the testing result and report must be in line with the specified rules and regulations as requested by ANATEL. Product certificate shall be granted by ANATEL first before product is circulated in marketing and put into practical application.
The Brazil governmental standard organizations, other recognized certification bodies and testing labs are ANATEL certification authority for analyzing the production system of manufacturing unit, such as product design process, procurement, manufacturing process, after service and so on to verify the physical product to be complied with Brazil standard. Manufacturer shall provide documents and samples for testing and assessment.

Recently, the Egyptian Organization for Standards & Quality(EOS)released a draft standard for secondary lithium-ion cells used in road vehicles. The draft specifies performance and life test methods for secondary lithium-ion cells used for propulsion in Battery Electric Vehicle (BEVs) and Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEVs), including tests for the basic characteristics of lithium-ion cells in terms of capacity, power density, energy density, storage life and cycle life. The draft standard is technically identical to IEC 62660-1:2018.
On April 1st 2023 a 10-year-old girl and her 15-year-old sister died in a fire occurred in Pennsylvania. The local fire department confirmed that 42V Jetson Rogue skateboard is the fire source. The fire expanded from the room to the rest of the house, causing the death of the girls. Their parents got hurt by absorbing too much smoke. The reason of fire is still not confirmed yet. There are other reports about skateboard burning, sparking or melting, some of those were involved in fire. CPSC reminded consumers to carefully use skateboard and other micro-mobility devices. When charging for these devices, consumer should stay and keep an eye on them. Consumers are suggested charging with authentic chargers.
CPSC recalled Anker 535 power bank. This power bank can charge laptop, tablet, mobile phones and many other devices. The highest output power is 30W. They were recalled because the lithium-ion batteries inside will get overheat and cause fire hazards. At present CPSC has received 10 reports on overheat issues, with one of them involve a minor wound report.
