The Chinese version of REACH—— GB/T 39498-2020 Guidelines on the control of key chemicals used in consumer goods will be formally implemented from June 1st, 2021.To improve the quality of Chinese consumer goods and help our products go globally, China needs to formulate standards on products safety to avoid chemical hazards to customers. These standards should be in line with the status of Chinese industries and can lead the production development. Based on these demands, the Guidelines on the control of key chemicals used in consumer goods was formally issued on November, 19th, 2020.
The Guidelines on the control of key chemicals used in consumer goods includes a list of hazardous substances under restriction. This “Guidelines” applies to consumer products, including product components, parts, accessories, packaging and instructions for use.
