SIRIM is a former Malaysia standard and industry research institute. It is a company wholly-owned by Malaysian Minister of Finance Incorporated. It was consigned by Malaysian government to work as a national organization in charge of standard and quality management, and push the development of Malaysian industry and technology. SIRIM QAS, as the subsidiary company of SIRIM, is the only gateway for testing, inspection and certification in Malaysia.
At present rechargeable lithium batteries certification is still voluntary in Malaysia. But it is said to become mandatory in the future, and will be under management of KPDNHEP, the trading and consumer affair department of Malaysia.

The IECEE CB system is the first international system for mutual recognition of electrical product safety test reports. A multilateral agreement between national certification bodies (NCB) in each country allows manufacturers to obtain national certification from other member states of the CB system by virtue of a CB test certificate issued by the NCB.as a CBTL approved by the IECEE CB system, the application for test of CB certification can be conducted in MCM.MCM is one of the first third-party organizations to conduct certification and testing for IEC62133, and has rich experience and ability to solve certification testing problems.

All electronic products in the mandatory registration product catalogue must be registered in the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) before they are imported into India or sold in the Indian market. In November 2014, 15 mandatory registered products were added. New categories include mobile phones, batteries, mobile power supplies, power supplies, LED lights and sales terminals.
