Introduction

BSMI (Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection. M.O.E.A.), formerly known as the National Bureau of Weights and Measures established in 1930, is the highest inspection authority in the Republic of China, and responsible for national standards, weights and measures and commodity inspection. The product inspection code for electronic and electrical products in Taiwan is formulated by BSMI. Products must meet safety and EMC tests and related tests before they can be authorized to use the BSMI mark.

According to the BSMI notice on November 20, 2013, 3C secondary lithium cells/batteries need to be inspected according to the corresponding standards before entering the Taiwan market from May 1, 2014.
