▍Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS)
Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology released Electronics & Information Technology Goods-Requirement for Compulsory Registration Order I-Notified on 7th September, 2012, and it came into effect on 3rd October, 2013. Electronics &Information Technology Goods Requirement for Compulsory Registration, what is usually called BIS certification, is actually called CRS registration/certification. All electronic products in the compulsory registration product catalog imported to India or sold in the Indian market must be registered in the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). In November 2014, 15 kinds of compulsory registered products were added. New categories include: mobile phones, batteries, power banks, power supplies, LED lights and sales terminals, etc.

On August 28, 2020, Certification and Accreditation Administration of the P. R. C (CNCA) issued an
announcement from the CNCA on clarifying the mandatory product certification requirements for 5G mobile user terminals. The announcement clarified that 5G mobile user terminals belong to the scope of mandatory product certification and emphasized that CCC certification is required before 5G products are on the market to sell.
After the CNCA issued the announcement, on September 15th, China Quality Certification Center also revised the scope of compulsory certification products. The revision objects include CQC-C0801-2016 Compulsory Product Certification Implementation Rules Audio and Video Equipment, CQC -C0901-2016 Compulsory Product Certification Implementation Rules Information Technology Equipment and CQC-C1601-2016 Compulsory Product Certification Implementation Rules Telecommunications Terminal Equipment, mainly to adjust the scope of compulsory certification products:
1. CQC-C0801-2016: Deleted various broadcast band tuning receivers, radios, and monitor products, and no
longer required mandatory certification for these products;
2. CQC-C0901-2016: Deleted the copier products, and no longer enforced the compulsory certification of the copiers;
3. CQC-C1601-2016: Deleted fixed telephone terminals and additional devices for telephone sets, and
compulsory certification was no longer implemented for group phone products, and added YD/T2583.18 as the electromagnetic compatibility standard for 5G mobile user terminal CCC certification
